Faith
Independent Missionary Baptist Church
Tampa, Florida

Faith Independent Missionary Baptist Church was founded in January, 1972, by Pastor Doyle Worley, his family and a few friends, who felt impressed by God to start a church in the area. For the purpose of glorifying God, they began reaching out to win souls through the preaching and teaching of God's Word, helping people to believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Meetings were held in each other's houses, rented schoolrooms and other locations until the current property was found at the corner of Silver Lake (one block south of Waters Ave.) and Habana.

In 1977, church services started taking place in the building which is now the Fellowship Hall, with 31 charter members. They also started gathering to sing gospel-led songs on the third Saturday night of every month. Word spread, people from other churches joined in on this activity, and the third "Saturday Sings" (Gospel Concerts) still go on today.

In 1986, the new church sanctuary was built next door and in 2000, the mortgage was paid off! We thank God for the blessings He has given this church, and for all the wonderful people He's placed here over the years. We want to expand our family! So we extend His grace and mercy to all that will hear, giving glory for everything to God.
Pastor William Riley was ordained into ministry in August, 1969 at the Southern United Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana. From 1969-1980, he pastored three churches in that state. He and his lovely wife, Jane, moved to Florida in 1981. He's served as an assistant, associate and now senior pastor at Faith for a total of 24 years.

Pastor Riley says, “My absolute passion is to see people accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord. We invite you to come and be part of our church family!”
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
